Patek Philippe has opened the doors to its seventh Watch Art Grand Exhibition in Milan, hosting the event at CityOval in the CityLife district. Dating back to 2012, this grand exhibition concept celebrates the manufacture’s rich heritage, museum artifacts, and elite craftsmanship. Alongside over 500 historic timepieces and rare handcrafts, Patek Philippe has unveiled seven limited-edition watches reserved exclusively for the Italian market.
The crown jewel of the Milan releases is the Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 5978P-010, limited to just 120 pieces worldwide. Housed in a 42mm platinum Calatrava case with a signature diamond set at 6 o’clock, this timepiece represents the peak of high-complication watchmaking. Its striking navy-blue gradient dial features Italian calendar indications that switch instantaneously in a fraction of a second. Subtle red accents, a textured center, and tricolor stitching near the platinum clasp pay tribute to the host nation.
With a production run of only 5 pieces, the Minute Repeater Ref. 7047G-010 is among the rarest creations in the collection. Encased in 18K white gold, this ultra-exclusive timepiece trades subtle restraint for a bold aesthetic. It features a fiery red-lacquered dial etched with a carbon-fiber pattern, paired with a matching red alligator strap. As a minute repeater, it chimes the time on demand, offering an extraordinary blend of classical high horology and modern Italian flair.
Limited to 100 pieces, the Ref. 7147G-010 bridges the gap between grand complications and modern sport-chic styling. Its 38mm white gold case houses a vibrant green-lacquered dial adorned with a carbon-inspired pattern and Italian calendar displays. Delivering a complete perpetual calendar and moonphase display in a remarkably slim profile, it comes paired with a matching green alligator strap featuring subtle tricolor details.
For collectors who appreciate clean design, the Ref. 7007G-010 offers a refined take on the iconic Calatrava silhouette. Capped at 200 pieces, this 38mm white gold edition features a crisp white-lacquered dial accented by a woven carbon-fiber motif and high-contrast charcoal numerals. It pairs effortless wearability with rare exhibition exclusivity, finished with a striking white alligator strap.
Bringing high-exclusivity watchmaking to Patek’s most sought-after sports line, the Aquanaut Ref. 5167A-014 is limited to just 250 pieces. Encased in stainless steel with its signature rounded-octagonal bezel, the watch pairs a sunburst blue grid dial with sharp red accents on the minute track and seconds hand. Fitted with a midnight-blue composite strap, it combines rugged versatility with extreme rarity.
The absolute pinnacle of artistic craftsmanship comes in the twin World Time Minute Repeaters, Ref. 5531G-012 and Ref. 5531G-013. Extremely exclusive at just 5 pieces each, these masterpieces combine two of Patek’s most legendary complications: a world-timer that chimes local time and a grand feu cloisonné enamel dial.
The center dial panel of the daytime Ref. 5531G-012 depicts central Milan in daylight using 16 enamel colors. Its twin, the Ref. 5531G-013, captures the city illuminated at night across a deeper palette. Both pieces feature “Milano” printed in red on the city disk, standing as true artistic trophies celebrating the host city.
What makes these seven watches so extraordinarily desirable is not merely their mechanical pedigree, but their strict geographical allocation and minute production numbers. Once these limited runs belong to collectors, they will never be produced again—immortalizing them as instant holy grails from Patek Philippe’s milestone Milan exhibition.
