Drivers traveling from the Skyway to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 can now cut travel time by 15 to 25 minutes thanks to the newly opened off-ramp connecting the NAIA Expressway directly to the terminal.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. inaugurated the Andrews Avenue off-ramp, designed to relieve congestion by allowing vehicles to avoid a frequent traffic choke point near the airport. This should also benefit people traveling further south-west as traffic at-grade is eased due to more vehicles utilizing NAIAx particularly motorists coming from beyond Metro Manila utilizing the Skyway.

Constructed by San Miguel Corporation (SMC) through its infrastructure division, the link aims to enhance access to Terminal 3 ahead of the typical surge during holidays and daily rush hours. SMC Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang noted traffic jams once caused delays of up to 30 minutes over just one kilometer due to high vehicle density.

The project features a 320-meter, two-lane off-ramp on Andrews Avenue in Pasay City, complemented by road widening near the Circulo del Mundo Rotonda at grade level. It was completed in 12 months, a third of the time versus the projected 36-month timeline thanks to coordinated efforts among builders, contractors, regulators, and government bodies, including Pasay City, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB).

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon emphasized that the project exemplifies the Marcos administration’s commitment to expanding public-private partnerships in transportation infrastructure. “The President has underscored the need to collaborate with the private sector to ease our kababayans’ daily travel challenges,” he said.

These infrastructure projects are in -line with San Miguel Corporation’s goal to build timely and much needed world-class infrastructures as the government’s collaborative partners in nation building.
