A student from Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech) captured gold at TESDA’s WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026, highlighting the institution’s elite technical training while helping propel CALABARZON to the overall national championship.

David Kryzjan Escobar, a 20-year-old student from TMP Tech’s Automotive Servicing General Job Batch 24, represented Region IV-A against delegates from 10 other regions in the Automobile Technology category. Guided by TMP Tech Master Instructor Apolinar Rampola, Escobar showcased outstanding expertise in automotive servicing to take top honors in the Transportation and Logistics sector. His victory contributed to CALABARZON’s 17-medal tally and earned him a spot on the Philippine delegation for the WorldSkills ASEAN Competition in 2027.

Escobar’s win caps a dominant year for TMP Tech, whose students swept all seven gold medals across three WorldSkills competition levels—provincial, regional, and national. This success underlines the school’s competitive edge in developing top-tier Filipino technicians proficient in diesel, gas engine diagnostics, and modern hybrid powertrains. By cultivating skilled talent, Toyota Motor Philippines continues to strengthen the entire local automotive value chain, from manufacturing to after-sales service.

Since opening in 2013, TMP Tech has produced nearly 3,000 graduates whose industry-responsive skills are highly sought after by Toyota’s network locally and internationally, including over 200 technicians deployed to Japan. To meet the rising global demand for skilled technicians, TMP Tech recently expanded its footprint into Central Luzon, opening a second campus in San Fernando, Pampanga. Positioned in a rapidly growing economic hub, the new facility aims to broaden access to world-class technical education, providing more young Filipinos with pathways to gainful employment both at home and abroad.
